Sir Fredrick Stern created Highdown Gardens, and out of all the plants he admired, arguably the snowdrop was his most beloved. Join us this February to witness the swathes of snowdrops that now blanket Highdown, a sure sign that spring is around the corner!
Highdown’s Curator, Alex New, and snowdrop enthusiast Simon Hollingworth are sharing their passion through bespoke tours on the gardens’ extensive snowdrop collection. The tour will consist of identification techniques, and fascinating facts as they give their expert tips on caring for these winter wonders.
Tours on Thursday 13th February will also be delivered as part of the National Garden Scheme Snowdrop Festival. The National Gardening Scheme is a charity which supports a variety of garden and healthcare beneficiaries, and will have an information stall on the day.
