School Visits

children - school visits sign

Many local schools visit us during the year and undertake activities such as:

  • Photography
  • Bark rubbing
  • Plant identification
  • Insect identification
  • Drawing

School groups are very welcome to have picnic lunches on the lawns as part of their visit, but we request that you take your rubbish away with you at the end of the visit.

If you would like to book in a school visit then please contact us.

We can arrange to raise the height restriction barrier on the car park to facilitate coaches where required.

Broadwater CE School recently commented:

Highdown Garden is the perfect place for our Year 1 children to explore, discover and enjoy learning about growing plants. This is the 4th year running we have taken children up to Highdown to enrich their curriculum. This year the children had a photography challenge and spent time selecting flowers to capture in the beautiful sunshine.

The pond and water features are a clear favourite amongst the children and initiated many discussions about insects and pond life. A flower treasure hunt really got them looking at their surroundings and the amazing variety of plants in the garden.

All the children had a wonderful time and it was a stunning start to our topic.
